Severn Deanery GP Trainees Top of the Class!
The Royal College of General Practitioners (RCGP) has just published figures showing that Severn Deanery GP Trainees had the best pass rates amongst all deaneries in England, Scotland and Wales in both the CSA and AKT during 2008.
Head of School, Dr Bill Irish, says, “This is stunning. Even better than last year, which was itself pretty good! Congratulations to all of you, and in particular to trainers and GPEs. A huge triumph!”

Public Health Leadership, Swindon, 2 posts available. In August 2010, co-funded by the Severn Deanery School of Primary Care and the South West Public Health Training Programme, there will be two innovative posts available to develop leadership in General Practice. Locations are yet to be confirmed. For further information please click on the below documents: Public Health Article - PH Leadership Programme Out of Programme Experience (OOPE) - Please note you can also apply for this in your ST1 & 2 years. We offer OOPE opportunities in two contexts: 1. When you are applying for GP training. Five OOPE programmes are available from August 2010, one available in each of the five locations. These are recruited to as part of the ST1 application process for GP specialist training. The five placements will be clearly 2. During your ST2 year We can also accomodate up to a further five OOPE placements. Applications open at the beginning of your ST2 year and are considered independent panel.
